September Meeting

We had a fantastic showing at our kick off meeting for the year! 
Thank you to all that attended for welcoming our new members and getting a head start on everything.

We have a lot of things going on this year, so it is imperative that we have FULL participation. This doesn't just mean simply fulfilling the requirements, but means going beyond what is asked of you to truly do some good. This charity can only be as successful as its constituents, and though we have a good handful of people who consistently put in the effort, it was mean a world of difference if everyone was willing to do the same.

But, back to the September meeting. We had the pleasure of having Susan Brown Campbell, Chief Executive Director of the Assistance Leave of Southern California, join us to talk about the state of need in Los Angeles. Needless to say, her message was one of urgency. I hope that her words inspired all those who were there to throw themselves into this league and other community service based efforts to help alleviate the overwhelming desperation in this city and bring hope to deserving individuals.  

And lastly, take a good look at our new members!

Kidnap Breakfast!

Everyone get excited for our first event of the year, THE KIDNAP BREAKFAST!

Information should be sent out soon, but here are the basic details;

Date: August 28th (Saturday)
Time: 9-11ish am

The kidnap breakfast serves as an orientation to new members and as a meet and greet for Big and Little Sisters. Fun and food abound, he event should make for a really enjoyable kick start for the upcoming Assisteens year.

What a wonderful year!

What a fantastic year we have had!

Everyone should be proud of the work that this organization has done since last August; our time and efforts have made a difference to the lives of many, from the young to the old, and it is up to us to continue to grow the scope and passion of our service in the upcoming year.

Thank you to all of our chairs and committee members; without you nothing could be done.
Thank you to all of the moms; for your time, and patience, and assistance; none of us would be here today without you. 

I think we need a goal for the next year though.
I say we make it HIGHER ATTENDANCE!
Because we can do it!
All we need to do is get the word out and guilt everyone into doing what they signed up for; assisting!

So yay!
(A couple more weeks and school is over!)

New idea/revival: SHUTTERFLY!

We are trying to get ourselves organized and more efficient and here is our latest venture!

Instead of Fliker, which only enables limited downloads when you register for a free account, we are going to be using Shutterfly for all of our photography needs!
You can add, share, download or print using Shutterfly, and the simplistic, organized layout will allow for us all to find what we need!

So yay!

I am working on getting rights to help edit the page and it make it more beautiful and I need your help.
I realize I am probably typing to no one since nobody reads this, but hey, the word is out there; can't say nobody ever told you!
